we Slow And Steady by Olugboyega Alaba ~ Naija Poets

Slow and steady
They say wins the race
Haste
They say does make waste!
To haste into life's pleasure

Does not guarantee celeb
To live humble
Does not haste death.
Whichever path a being has chosen
God own the supreme say

Let us work with humility
For our work reward to become ours.
What good is the labour
When death has come before reward?
An alien enjoys such reward.

What good is an engagement
When death has come before the wedding?
An alien enjoys such a bride.
A child is born
The dad is gone

A scavenger child might become.
Slow and steady here on earth
Can only conquer haste and waste.
